What we do

Gable & Slate replaces and repairs roofs on homes across Western North Carolina: standing seam metal, architectural shingle, and the flashing, valleys and gutters that decide whether either one keeps the water out. One crew, one person to call, and a tidy yard when we leave.

Standing seam metal

Sheds snow, shrugs off wind.

Architectural shingle

The steady, good-looking default.

Services

One crew, from the first ladder to the last ridge cap.

  • Roof replacement

A full tear-off to the deck, a look at every board, then a new roof laid in the order water actually travels.

  • Repairs and leaks

We follow a leak back to where it starts, which is rarely where the stain is, and fix that instead of the symptom.

  • Standing seam metal

Long panels, hidden fasteners and snow guards where they matter. A good match for steep pitches and real winters.

  • Storm response

After wind or hail we tarp what needs tarping, photograph the damage, and help you make sense of the paperwork.

  • Free inspections

A walk of the roof, the attic and the gutters, with photos of anything worth your attention and a plain-English note.

Let's talk

Field notes

A roof usually says it is tired before it leaks. Curled edges, bald patches, grit collecting at the foot of the downspouts.

Field note 01 · What to look for

Most leaks start at the joints, not the open field of the roof. Chimneys, skylights, valleys and pipe boots are where we look first.

Field note 02 · Where water gets in

A cold attic is a healthy attic. Good airflow keeps ice dams off the eaves and damp out of the decking all winter.

Field note 03 · Winter on the ridge
